It is floods again in Bangalore !
It is 3:00 AM on Aug 15th, 2009 in Bangalore. It is raining cats and dogs for past 4 hours and our apartment is flooded in HSR layout. There is knee deep water everywhere in the parking lot. Most of the cars are safe, except for those parked in the last block. For some cars the water has even entered inside and I am not sure if they will start tomorrow ! I took out my car just to be safe, and in case water level raises.
I happened to tell one of my friends over phone last night that, it has not rained for past few weeks properly. Bam...there you go, you get all that 2 weeks worth of rain in just 2 hours !!
Two lessons from this incident, that we must learn :
o Never occupy a natural lake bed and convert it in to residential area. HSR layout was once part of Agara lake, and is the main path to connect Bellandur lake and Madivala lake in BTM layout.
o Ensure all drain systems are working and not clogged all the time.
